Sealed Bids for the construction of the FY22 CDBG Sanitary Sewer System Improvements will be received, by the City of Cairo, at 119 North Broad St, Cairo GA 39828, until 11:00AM, Thursday, January 18th, 2024, local time, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read. No bid may be withdrawn after the closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. Copies of Bidding Documents for bidding purposes can be obtained from Watkins & Associates, L.L.C., 1606 Whiddon Mill Road, Tifton, Georgia 31793, Phone: (229) 388-8823, (Office of the Engineer) upon payment of $300.00 for each set (non-refundable). Any Contractor submitting a bid must be a licensed Utility Contractor by the State of Georgia. License numbers must be written on the face of the bid envelope. No bid will be opened unless the license number is clearly shown. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the City of Cairo, located at 119 North Broad St, Cairo GA 39828 or at Watkins & Associates, LLC on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. Plan holders list, addenda and bid results are available at www.watkinseng.com.  The work to be done shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials and equipment necessary to construct the proposed FY22 CDBG for Sanitary Sewer System Improvements as shown on the construction drawings. In general, construction consists of approximately 7,770 L.F. of 8” CIPP, 216 V.F. of manhole rehabilitation, sewer service replacements, clearing of easements, erosion control measures and all associated appurtenance for the complete project. This work will be awarded in one (1) contract with a 180 consecutive calendar day construction schedule. The work to be performed under this contract is subject to the requirements of section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968, as amended, 12 U.S.C. 1701u (section 3).
