POSITION SUMMARY

 

The Marketing and Event Coordinator will be responsible for planning and assisting in creating all marketing and promotional materials for our vibrant Main Street downtown, and will manage all event bookings for our Grady Cultural Center (GCC) and serve as coordinator with clients and staff.  As the Marketing and Event Coordinator, you will collaborate with local merchants and work closely with other community leaders to drive impactful marketing initiatives.  You will prepare venue packages and pricing options and liaise with client to determine their specific requirements.  This position will oversee the design and graphics of promotional materials to elevate our downtown’s image, as well as promote the Grady Cultural Center and our downtown events through various marketing channels, including social media.   

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

  • Event Coordination:  Assist in setting up, facilitating, and completing marketing events that celebrate our Main Street community.
  • Event Bookings:  Plans, assigns and directs all activities of the GCC venue and entering all client information into the Parallels software program in a timely manner.
  • Staff Supervision: Teamwork environment that will work closely with all staff members, including maintenance personnel and event staff.
  • Operations and Security:  Oversees all event operations, tending to any incident or requests that may arise, and communicate and enforce all security guidelines and procedures are in place and followed. 
  • Community Engagement: Speak to various community and civic groups to promote our downtown area.
  • Marketing:  Design marketing and promotional materials for events and Main Street, must have a clear understanding of our organization and its target audience while staying informed about trends and identify opportunities for growth. 
  • This full time position will require that the individual perform assigned job duties which will include some weekends, evenings, early morning hours and holidays.

REQUIRED TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

 

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience preferred but not required.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms.
  • Website building and updating proficient preferred.
  • Digital photography and video editing experience a plus.
