Rescheduling of Council Meeting

The Regular Council Meeting Scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. has been rescheduled due to the Memorial Day holiday. The rescheduled meeting will be held Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 6:00 P.M. in Council Chambers.

PUBLIC NOTICE

Upcoming Public Hearing on the Proposed FY 2020-2021 Budget

The City of Cairo Mayor and Council will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. to receive citizen input on the proposed fiscal year 2020-2021 budget. The meeting will be held in the council chambers at 101-B North Broad Street.

A draft copy of the proposed budget will be available for review beginning on May  15, 2020 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the office of the city manager at City Hall located at 119 North Broad Street.

At the regular meeting on Monday, June 8, 2020 at 6:00 p.m., the City of Cairo Mayor and Council will approve the final fiscal year 2020- 2021 budget and consider introduction of the ordinance; with final adoption of the ordinance at the regular meeting on Monday, June 22, 2020. This public meeting will also be held in the council chambers at 101-B North Broad Street.

For the safety of our employees during the Coronavirus Pandemic, all public access to the utility office has been suspended effective immediately until further notice. We understand that this may be an inconvenience, but the safety of our employees is our first priority. The drive thru will be open normal business hours 8-5 pm. Payments may also be made online at www.syrupcity.net, the drop box at the utility office or by phone. If you have any questions about your account, please call the utility office at (229) 377-1722. We will update as changes occur. Thank you for your understanding.
